Abstract
Failure to achieve normal position is termed ectopia. The ectopic kidney is termed ectopia. The ectopic kidney is usually lower than normal, anomalous in its blood supply, malrotated with hilum. It may lie on the same side as its ureteral orifice
(simple ectopia) or on the opposite side (crossed ectopia). Other urotgenital and non urogenital and non urogenital anomalies have been reported in a moderate to high persentage of cases of renal ectopia and are commonly the major souce of
complications. The actual incidence among autopsy series varies from 1 in 1200, but the average occurrence is about 1 in 900.
We report a case of right simple unilateral renal ectopia located within the intraabdominal cavity which dose not accompany several congenital anomalies involving the multiple organs.
